What items can I recycle in my blue, desk-side bin and in the community bins on campus?

The following items can be recycled in the desk-side and community recycling bins on campus:

  • Paper
  • Newspaper & Magazines
  • Envelopes
  • Bottles
  • Cans
  • Plastics #1 - #5 & #7 (Number can be found on an item’s recycle logo)
  • Coffee cup lids
  • Small amounts of metal and cardboard (for example, pizza box tops)
  • Unbroken glass

NOTE: Batteries, electronics, plastic bags & film, and ink jet & toner cartridges are recyclable! Visit our Specialty Recycling Locator page for drop-off locations!

What items can’t I recycle?

The following items should not be placed in the desk-side or community recycle bins on campus:

  • Food waste and recyclables contaminated with food waste (for example, pizza box bottoms)
  • Batteries
  • Ink jet and toner cartridges
  • Electronics
  • Clean shrink wrap
  • Coffee cups
