Eco Reps and staff attended the Texas Regional Alliance for Campus Sustainability (TRACS) Annual Summit. Eco Reps presented posters regarding their work at the student poster session and staff members led sessions on sustainability topics. Gary Cocke led a discussion on green energy strategies across higher education in Texas highlighting UTD’s path to a renewable energy strategy with Gwen Schaulis moderating the panel. Danielle Dunn presented on a panel providing guidance to students who plan to incorporate sustainability into their career. Avery McKitrick presented on UTD’s Eco Rep program demonstrating how student employees in sustainability departments can be utilized to their fullest potential. Gwen Schaulis presented her poster titled “Justice at the Heart of Environmentalism”. Ian Seamans’ poster highlighted his work making campus more bicycle friendly with the poster “Bicycle Friendly University at UT Dallas”. Mohini Shanker presented a poster on UTD’s microfarm titled “UTD Eco Hub”.
