Changes to Sustainability Service Honors Requirements

Sustainability Service Honors, a program designed to recognize students completing service hours relating to one or more of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, is now adding tiers of achievement. Students will receive Sustainability Service Honors Bronze for earning 150-199 hours of service, Silver for earning 200-249 hours of service, and Gold for earning 250 or more hours. Each tier will be recognized in their own way, and only the Sustainability Service Honors Gold recipients will be invited to our planting ceremony that takes place each spring.

Volunteer of the Month. Changho Lee.

Volunteer of the Month: Changho Lee (he/him/his)

Degree Program: Geospatial Information Sciences, PhD

Graduation Date: Fall 2024

Why he volunteers: When I am the first to volunteer, it can enlarge a movement of sustainability. I believe in the power of one person to lead change in the world.

Favorite volunteering experience: My favorite experiences are the Eco Hub and Honey Helpers. I was impressed by the interactions between plants and honeybees when I participated in both activities. Honeybees help to fertilize plants and plants provide food for honeybees.
