Join us for Campus Sustainability Month!

Each October, the Office of Sustainability, along with other colleges and universities around the world, celebrate AASHE Campus Sustainability Month. Staff and Faculty Sustainability: Green Office Certification Re-launched

Green Office Certification Program at UT Dallas is a fun and easy way for offices to assess and improve their sustainability efforts. By participating, departments can earn bronze, silver, gold, or platinum certification based on their sustainable practices and receive recognition, branded items, and a spot on the sustainability website. Participate by following the four steps to become a certified Green Office.

Last chance to become a Sustainability Steward this semester! Sign up for the three-part virtual training by today, October 2.

Provide Feedback on Bicycling at UTD

This summer, the Office of Sustainability submitted application materials to recertify as a League of American Bicyclists’ Bicycle Friendly University, recognizing our efforts to make UTD better for cyclists. As part of the application process, we would greatly appreciate survey feedback from any students, staff, faculty, alumni, and/or community members who are familiar with current bicycle programs, facilities, and amenities. Submit survey feedback by Thursday, October 10.

Follow us on Instagram: Day in the life of Eco Reps

Each week this October, one of our Eco Reps will be taking over our Instagram stories to highlight a day in their lives. Eco Reps will be sharing about their day on campus, as a student employee in the Office of Sustainability, and being involved at UTD. Follow us on Instagram to learn more about what role the Eco Reps lead on campus!

Zero Waste Updates

Last month, the Comet Composting program returned providing on-campus residents and offices access to compost drop off locations. Take the short online training to start composting. This month and next, the Office of Sustainability is accepting candy wrappers as a specialty recycling stream. You can drop off candy wrappers or pick up your compost caddy during normal business hours at the Office of Sustainability at CM2 in the Facilities Management complex.
