Sustainability Service Honors Graduates Celebrated

Each semester, hundreds of UT Dallas students serve their communities both virtually and in-person. Students who log 250 hours or more of service before the time they graduate receive Sustainability Service Honors and get the leave their legacy on campus by planting a pollinator garden. This year’s garden is located on the east side of the McDermott library and will be planted on May 6. Sustainability Service Honors recipients this semester include students who volunteered their time visiting hospice patients, working with refugees, providing translation services, leading student organizations, and many more. We congratulate and thank all Sustainability Service Honorees this spring! If you are interested in logging your hours to receive this award in future semesters, please visit the Sustainability Service Honors webpage.

City of Richardson Active Transportation Plan

The City of Richardson is in the process of creating an Active Transportation Plan to better the city’s bicycle and pedestrian transportation network and to update their existing Bicycle Facilities and Trailways Plan. UT Dallas is represented on the Active Transportation Plan Committee and Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee by our office’s Sustainability Coordinator and Bicycle Friendly University Eco Rep. Take the survey through the end of May to give your thoughts on transportation in the City of Richardson.

Be Air Aware

Airborne pollutants, like nitrous oxides and VOCs, affect the quality of life of many DFW residents by causing health issues such as irritation and headaches. Get air pollution alerts from Air North Texas to stay informed of air quality concerns.
