Earth Week Kicks Off April 18thEach year, the UT Dallas community comes together to celebrate sustainability and environmental practices through interactive and educational events and programs during Earth Week. This year, in collaboration with the Office of Student Volunteerism and other campus partners, we are offering more than 15 events to learn more about sustainability and to take action towards a healthier environment. This year’s Earth Week theme is Climate Action. Show your support for climate action at UTD by attending our Climate Action Support Rally on April 21 at 11:45 a.m. at the Plinth. |

Eco Hub Becomes a NTFB Partner GardenThe UTD Eco Hub is beginning its official partnership with the North Texas Food Bank to become a North Texas Food Bank Partner Garden. Partner Gardens donate 10 to 100 percent of their yield to a local Partner Agency (in UTD’s case, the Comet Cupboard) while NTFB provides support and visibility to help partner gardens thrive. On average, our Partner Gardens donate between 20,000-40,000 pounds of garden-fresh produce to the partner agency network each year. |

Mount Trashmore a SuccessLast month, we hosted Mount Trashmore, a visual representation of a fraction of the amount of trash the campus core produces in a single day. We spoke to dozens of students about single use plastics, zero waste, and reducing your environmental footprint. Mount Trashmore was part of our larger Campus Race to Zero Waste programming, which runs from January 31 to March 26. View our real-time waste tracking results at the link below. |
